Herbal Therapy Is Equivalent to Rifaximin for the Treatment of Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO)

The most common eradication treatment for small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO) is a course of the antibiotic rifaximin.  However for many people this is a problem because they either are not working with a doctor or have an adversion to taking a pharmaceutical antibiotic.  Below is a link to a great article about treating small intestinal bacterial overgrowth using herbal therapies.  Most interesting, this research shows that the herbal therapies can have efficacy equivalence to a pharmaceutical antibiotic.  This suggests that consumers can take a hydrogen breath test offered by our laboratory and successfully pursue a treatment strategy at a very low cost and without ever involving a doctor.
