Breath Test Procedure |

Patient Preparation
|
- NPO one hour prior to testing.
- Abstain from antibiotics, proton pump inhibitors,
and bismuth 14 days prior to initial testing OR four
weeks prior to testing to confirm cure.
- H2 antagonists may be substituted as these medications
do not affect the test results.
Everything needed, but a timer and
potable water, is contained in the easy to use BreathTek™
UBT collection kits so you can administer the test right
in the physician's office or patient service center.
Simply administer the test and send breath samples in
the return packaging to our testing laboratory. |

Collect baseline breath sample. Breathing normally,
take a breath, hold it for a count of 2, and exhale
into the bag
|
Prepare Pranactin®-Citric solution
|
Patient drinks Pranactin®-Citric
solution
|

|
 |
|
Collect second breath sample after 15 minutes.
Use same procedure as explained in Step 1
|
Mail samples to Metabolic Solutions
in the prepaid mailer found in the kit

Receive patient results and treat
accordingly |
