Specimen Handling

Breath specimens are easy to collect and are extremely robust samples that require no special handling. Samples can withstand the temperature fluctuations of winter and summer shipping. Samples should be sent to Metabolic Solutions immediately after completion of the test. When preparing to send samples just follow these three simple steps:

• Make sure that the caps are secure but not over tightened.
• Completely fill out the requisition form.
• Place the samples and requisition form in the prepaid first class mail envelope and send it as you would any other regular U.S. mail.
