Solutions offers a non-invasive liver function test
that measures the degree and progression of mitochondrial
liver impairment in patients with varied causes of
liver disease. This liver function test is based on
the metabolism of 1-13C
methionine (non-radioactive tracer) as a direct
measure of hepatic mitochondrial function and
is called the methionine breath test. Applications
for the methionine breath test include liver function
monitoring for drug induced liver toxicity, evaluating
liver damage in Non-Alcoholic Steatohepatitis (NASH)
patients, and examination of liver transplantation
prioritization.
Metabolic Solutions provides a comprehensive service
that makes it easy to for researchers interested in
using the methionine breath test to measure hepatic
mitochondrial activity as a biomarker for liver function. We
provide:
- Assistance with experimental design / protocols.
- Test kits containing all the components necessary
to administer a methionine breath test. These test
kits are ideal for use at CRO’s.
- Analysis of the 13CO2 at our laboratory.
- Custom report.
- Bioanalytical report (summary of study data, description
of analytical and Quality Control (QC) methods,
QC data, and certification of results by an independent
QA auditor and the Analytical Project Manger) suitable
for FDA submissions.
